Coventry Godiva festival 2009

The Godiva festival starts on Friday night (3rd July) at the War Memorial Park on the Kenilworth Road in Coventry. It will run till Sunday night (5th July).

Loads of events for the family including rides, games, live music and totally FREE.

Bands playing this year include Toploader, Idlewild and Newt.

11th Godiva festival starts

The Godiva festival, said to be "the UK's Biggest and Best Free Family Festival", started today here in Coventry. It will go on till the 6th of this month at Coventry's Memorial Park.

I am really happy that they have banned people from bringing in booze from outside. Makes us feel safer to bring the kids.

Look out for the Grammy winning Reggae group Inner Circle on the main stage tonight. Popular group, The Enemy take to the stage on Saturday.

Glastonbury Festival starts

The biggest event on the British Music calender, the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, has started and will go on till the 29th of this month. According to a BBC report, around 125,000 fans are on-site. The Glastonbury Site mentions that there are some tickets still available.

There was some controversy about US rapper Jay Z as one of the headliners of the festival but that seems to have cooled now. Read Jay Z's response to the critics.
