Born of Hope - prequel to the Lord of the Rings

A prequel to the Lord of the Rings made by a fan has become a great hit on Youtube. Just finished watching it and it's amazing - I can't believe that it took Kate Madison only £25,000 (her entire life savings to make the hour long feature film.

Born of Hope tells the story of Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn. You can watch the entire movie for free on Youtube.

The Watchman

I am a sucker for super hero movies and even if they turn out to be complete flops like the Punisher, I still look forward to adaptations of popular comic characters.

I am sure you have heard, director Zack Snyder's adaptation of DC Comics series, Watchmen is coming out today.

Set in an alternate comic universe where the cold war is still on. I am lookward to see how they have been able to reduce the whole series into a movie which is couple of hours long.

New Star Trek Movie

As a long time Trekie, I was really excited to learn that a new Star Trek movie is coming out. You won't believe who's playing Mr. Spock. It's none other than Zachary Quinto who plays Syler in Heroes. Chris Pine plays Kirk.

Directed by J.J. Abrams, the movie is expected to come out late next year.

Thomas to star as Tintin

According to the latest news reports (Guardian, Telegraph), A-level pupil Thomas Sangster (17) will star as legendary comic hero Tintin in the upcoming movie adaptation directed by Steven Spielberg.

The A -level student has previously acted in major roles in Love Actually and Nanny McPhee.

Some trivia:

Tintin was created by Belgian artist Hergé.
The Hero is a young Belgian reporter.
Professor Calculus is Professeur Tournesol in French.
The nationality of Captain Haddock, Tintin's close friend, is not mentioned but I think he's British and so are the bumbling twins, Thomson and Thompson (Dupond et Dupont in French). I may be mistaken though.

Jason Bourne is back in The Bourne Ultimatum

I am so looking forward to the new movie - "The Bourne Ultimatum".

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon) is back. All I know about the movie is that there are a lot of people trying to kill Bourne as he tries to find out about his past. As a Robert Ludlum fan, I loved the previous smash hits 'The Bourne Identity' (2002) and 'The Bourne Supremacy' (2004) based on his fictional character.
