Brit Awards 2008

Did any of you catch the Brit Awards yesterday night. The Guardian reported that 6.1m tuned in for the Brit Awards. I watched it on TV as well and what a show it was.

The Earls Court show was hosted by Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne and featured performances by Amy Winehouse, Kylie Minogue, Sir Paul McCartney and Leona Lewis. The biggest winners of the night were The Arctic Monkeys and Take That. The Arctic Monkeys won the Best British Group award and Best British Album award for "Favourite Worst Nightmare".

Take That walked away with Best British Live Act and Best British Single for Shine. Even though she had 4 nominations, Poor Leona didn't win even one.

Other winners:
Best Male Solo Artist: Mark Ronson
Best Female Solo Artist: Kate Nash
Best Breakthrough Act: Mika
Best International Male Solo Artist: Kanye West
Best International Female Solo Artist: Kylie Minogue
Best International Group: Foo Fighters
Best International Album: Foo Fighters for Echoes Silence Patience Grace
Sir Paul McCartney received the coveted award for outstanding contribution to music. He said that "..it was a big deal."
